As a father. As a coach. As a leader of a new generation.
Lukáš Konečný is returning to Lucerna. This time, not for himself, but for those he leads.
Prague, 18 November 2025 – Prague’s Lucerna, a venue with an unmistakable atmosphere and a rich history of boxing, will once again witness an extraordinary moment on 21 November. Jaromíra Konečná, daughter of former world champion Lukáš Konečný, will step into the ring here; this time, Lukáš is returning to Lucerna in the role of coach, father and mentor.
For Czech boxing, this will be a powerful meeting of generations. The sporting icon, who remains active and is planning further exhibition bouts of his own, will this time stand by the ropes and watch as his daughter and her team prepare for their big moment.
“It’s harder than my own fights,” says Lukáš Konečný
“Lucerna has always meant more to me than just a venue for a fight. It’s the heart of Czech boxing. And seeing my own daughter in the ring here is more meaningful than any title I’ve ever won,” says Lukáš Konečný, former WBO world champion and one of the greatest figures in Czech boxing.
Jaromíra Konečná grew up in a boxing environment from a young age, and her attitude, discipline and determination make her one of the most prominent young figures on the Czech women’s boxing scene. At Lucerna, she’ll be fighting not only under her father’s watchful eye. Another experienced fighter, world champion Fabiana Bytyqi, has also been helping with her preparation.
The ‘Tohle je box’ team at Lucerna: a new generation led by Lukáš Konečný
But Jaromíra won’t be the only one stepping into the Lucerna ring. The evening will also feature bouts by members of the ‘Tohle je box’ team, which Lukáš Konečný manages.
Kateřina Čavajdová – a talented boxer of the new generation,
Kristián Lichner – an energetic young man with an aggressive style,
Pavol Hriňák – a tough fighter with an uncompromising style in the main event of the evening.
But also Yevhen Drebit, Pavel Albrecht, Lukáš Volf and Václav Pejsar.
“It’s not just about Jaromír. Each of them has fought their way to this evening. And I’m proud to be standing here at Lucerna with them, as a coach or as someone who believes in their journey,” adds Konečný.
This Is Boxing – the stories that shape Czech boxing
The gala evening, co-organised by This Is Boxing, will feature a series of exciting bouts between Czech and international boxers. The team has long been linking sporting achievements with personal stories, showcasing boxing as a journey full of character, respect and discipline.
“Lukáš and Jaromíra’s story is, for us, the perfect symbol of what boxing is all about.
It’s about relationships, courage, hard work and values that are passed on not only in the gym, but also within the family,” says the Tohle je box team.
